Andre Devaux holds a Ph.D. in Agriculture Science at Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), Belgium. With more than 25 years experience in international development, he is now based in Ecuador assuming the Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) Regional Leadership as well as the coordination of a research for development regional project which promotes pro-poor innovation approaches for food security in the Andean potato-based food systems.

Cynthia Bantilan is the Research Program Director at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) for the Research Program on Markets, Institutions Policy. She was previously the Global Theme Leader of ICRISAT’s Global Theme on Institutions, Markets, Policy and Impacts. Prior to that, she was Principal Scientist and Project Leader and later Program Director for the Research Evaluation and Impact Assessment of the Socioeconomics and Policy Program at ICRISAT.

Stoian, Dietmar
Director, Commodity Systems and Genetic Resources Programme

Dietmar Stoian is Director of the Commodity Systems and Genetic Resources programme at Bioversity International in Montpellier, France. The programme pursues an R4D approach for banana, cacao and coconut, with emphasis on genetic resources, production systems and value chains. He previously led research, higher education and technical cooperation on sustainable rural business development at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Turrialba, Costa Rica.

Hareau, Guy

Guy Hareau holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Virginia Tech and is part of the Agronomy department at Universidad de la Republica Oriental del Uruguay. Since 2008, he has been with CIP to work as a specialist in defining priorities for investigation and impact evaluation of agricultural technical change.  His specialty is the design of partial and general equilibrium models to analyze economic impacts of agricultural technologies.  He has worked in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the United States.

Dror, Iddo
Head of Capacity Development

Dr. Iddo Dror joined ILRI as Head of Capacity Development (CapDev) in Oct 2012, and in line with the new ILRI strategy 2013-2022, leads the development of knowledge, attitudes, skills and institutional arrangements that are necessary to replicate, expand, adapt, use, support and sustain livestock research and its application for development in a variety of contexts across ILRI and its projects/CRPs.

Okike, Iheanacho
Country Representative, Nigeria

Iheanacho (Acho) Okike is the country program manager for Nigeria where he coordinates ILRI’s research activities. The main focus of his work has been intensification of crop-livestock systems, livestock marketing and, more recently, control of avian influenza.   Acho holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (1980) and a PhD in Agricultural Economics (2000).

Donovan, Jason
Marketing Specialist

Jason Donovan is a Marketing Specialist in ICRAF's Peru office. He holds a Ph.D. in Development Economics from the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies. His research interests include rural enterprise and value chain development.

Brooks, Karen
Director, Policies, Institutions and Markets.

Brooks is Director of the CGIAR Research Program on Policies, Institutions, and Markets, led by IFPRI. Her prior work experience includes over twenty years at the World Bank on agricultural programs in Africa South of the Sahara and Europe and Central Asia, and as Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota.  Brooks received both her PhD and Master’s degrees in Economics from the University of Chicago, where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow.

Lundy, Mark
Agroenterprise Development Specialist

Mark Lundy is a Researcher at CIAT, in Cali, Colombia. His work focuses on rural enterprise development with smallholder farmers and includes topics such as the establishment of learning networks to increase NGO and farmer capacities for enterprise development, how private companies can better partner with smallholder farmers, the role of public and donor agencies in supporting better market linkages, and how to establish and sustain effective trading relationships between buyers and smallholder farmers that add business value while reducing rural poverty.

Jager, Matthias
Marketing Expert

Matthias has wide experience working in different development projects, private sector companies and NGOs in topics related to marketing and value chain promotion of organic and fair trade certified high value niche and biodiversity products, both in the European Union, USA and developing countries. He is currently developing and testing market based approaches for linking underutilized genetic resources and farmers with markets for income generation and pro poor growth. He performs analysis of value chains to detect bottlenecks and outline upgrading strategies.

Abdoulaye, Tahirou
an Agricultural Economist

Tahirou Abdoulaye is from Niger. He is an Agricultural Economist based in Ibadan, Nigeria. His academic qualifications include a B.Sc. in economics (University of Niamey, Niger); and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in agricultural economics (Purdue University, USA). He has been involved in evaluation and impact assessment of several projects mainly in West Africa. He has produced papers on impact assessment of research activities in several African countries including Niger, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, Nigeria, and Benin.
